Rich Lanza CFE, CGMA, The Data Magician, has 25 years of audit and fraud detection experience with specialization in data analytics and cost recovery efforts. He currently is a Director of Data Analytics with Grant Thornton, LLP, where he is weaving analytics into their audit and advisory practices. Rich wrote the first book on practical applications of using data analytics in an audit environment titled 101 ACL Applications: A Toolkit for Today’s Auditor, in addition to authoring or co-authoring 18 more publications and having over 50 articles to his credit. Rich is proficient in the practical use of analytic software including ACL, ActiveData for Excel, Arbutus Analyzer, IDEA, TeamMate Analytics and auditing with Microsoft Excel techniques. Richard Cascarino is an IT and audit professional with over 40 years’ experience in designing, implementing, managing and auditing complex computer systems. In addition he has conducted extensive operational audits in a variety of business environments throughout the world. Richard is the Principal of Richard Cascarino & Associates and, in addition to being a regular speaker to National and International conferences, he has presented this series of courses throughout Africa, Europe, the Middle East and the USA. Richard is a Past President of the Institute of Internal Auditors in South Africa, was the founding Regional Director of the Southern African Region of the IIA-Inc and is a member of both the ISACA and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. He is also the chairman of the Audit and Risk Committee of the South African Department of Public Enterprises.
Don Sparks has more than 30 years of experience in finding significant errors and fraud using data analysis software. Don's primary industry experience is in the property casualty insurance industry and includes over 12 years as a chief audit executive and corporate director. He also worked for The IIA, where he was responsible for reviving Global Audit Information Network (GAIN) benchmarking services, created Flash Surveys, live-streaming video monthly web casts and the online training services. After The IIA, Sparks served as a director in public accounting PwC and McGladrey, where he worked with clients to achieve Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 IT compliance. In June 2011, Don was the developer and programmer of the Auditchannel.tv. Don’s most recent position was with Audimation Services, the USA distributor of IDEA data analytics software. While at Audimation he directed the development of the first e-commerce web site, created and successfully implemented the North America IDEA User Conferences, introduced streaming video, and conducted one day getting started with IDEA workshops around the country.
Michael Brozzetti, CIA, CISA, CGEIT is the Principal of Boundless LLC, an independent consulting and training firm helping companies safeguard their reputation and business integrity. Michael serves as a member of the IIA Global Ethics Committee which has the mission to oversee the maintenance, updating, and interpretation of The IIA's Code of Ethics, and to promote an understanding of and compliance with The IIA's Code of Ethics.
