Has anyone got a quick reference guide to what would be required within a business continuity plan that they would be prepared to share please.

Thanks
Dave :D

Hi Dave,

A good question to start this forum. AuditNet has a page devoted to disaster recovery/business continuity plans. You can reach it at http://www.auditnet.org/drp.htm I also have a Business Continuity Planning Guide from Bell South that is available on by request. There are a number of business continuity and disaster recovery planning audit programs, checklists and questionnaires available to registered users and subscribers. Unregistered users and non-subscribers can get any of these documents by sharing an original audit work program. As far as general Web resources there is a disaster recovery guide site at http://www.disaster-recovery-guide.com/ The FFIEC has an excellent Business Continuity Planning handbook at http://www.ffiec.gov/ffiecinfobase/book ... y_plan.pdf

I am sure there are others that could be shared by fellow auditors.

Hi all
Here is a link to the BCI's Good Practice Guide. It's not a template for what should be in the Business Continuity Plan but it is an overall best practice guide for the entire process and you can infer the contents of the BCP from it.
NB. They do require the provision of name\email details to download the file for 'non-members' but it is free.

Lou,

Thanks for the reference. This will come in handy for the February newsletter which will cover the auditor's role in business continuity and disaster recovery planning.

Best Regards for a Happy and Healthy New Year!
