How many times have you had an audit-related question and turned to the Internet for the answer? The Internet has resources that answer most questions but it can sometimes be difficult to find the site that provides the information.

This forum allows auditors to ask general audit-related questions on a wide range of topics including audit programs, best practices, how-to type questions, etc. Provide sufficient  information so that we may carefully consider your question. We can't guarantee we'll always have an answer, but we're willing to try this as a service to the audit community. We'll determine an answer to your question (if we can) and may post it in ASK Forum. You must conform to the guidelines below and read the disclaimer.

(Thanks to Jim Loss for sharing his Ask the Audit Guru forum files. These archives represent a valuable resource for the global audit community and provided a foundation for the Ask the Auditor Forum).

Guidelines for Forum Questions (guidelines/criteria subject to change).

  • Try to find the information yourself before turning to this forum. The AuditNet® philosophy is to teach auditors how to search so that they can do it on their own. I suggest that you use available online discussion forums where peer participation may help you answer your question.
  • Limit of one question at a time. Multiple questions or questions with multiple parts will not be answered.
  • Audit questions only!
  • You will not receive an email response to your question.  If your question is accepted the response will be posted directly in the appropriate Ask the Auditor section.
  • Questions and answers may be posted in the forum at the editor's discretion.
  • By submitting a question through this forum the requester agrees to it's use by AuditNet® and assigns all rights to AuditNet® for it's use.
  • AuditNet® will not be responsible for poorly constructed questions.  You must have a specific question or resource need.  Your request must be clear, concise and complete or we will not honor your request.
  • Keep it short and simple (KISS). Questions asking too much will not be considered.
  • AuditNet® will not conduct academic research or provide answers to questions posed by college students in relation assignments associated with their studies. This is a skill that professors expect of you and require that you do the research rather than having someone like me do it for you.
