Audit Tests Using ActiveData By Michelle Shein and Richard B. Lanza In case you haven't seen the latest AuditNet community information there
is a new CAATT available called ActiveData for Microsoft Excel. I reviewed
this Excel add-in software in April 2004. Now Richard B. Lanza, the guru of
CAATTs, has teamed up with Michell Shein, an instructor with experience
teaching auditors skills to uncover fraud using Microsoft Access and Excel
to produce a e-book showing auditors how to use ActiveData for Excel. The
purpose of the publication is to demonstrate ActiveData data analysis
routines useful for auditors and financial professionals. The authors walk
users through 16 common audit tests for accounts payable, accounts
receivable and general ledger. The guide provides an easy to understand
explanation of the reason for testing the area and a step-by-step tutorial
that shortens the learning curve for this new data analysis and manipulation
tool. There is a section devoted to Getting Started? including how to get
the data from your client. The authors also created test data files which
are downloaded with the publication. Rich has proved again with this
publication and others focused on ACL and IDEA that audit software is not
difficult to use if you have the right "tour guides". If you want an easy
solution to analyzing data files using Excel I would recommend purchasing
Top Audit Tests Using Active Data to get up and running in ActiveData for
Excel in no time flat using Michelle and Rich as your tour guides! Ordering information |
