AuditNet® adds another valued resource! In an exciting new alliance with Rose Hightower of IDEAL Consulting Solutions International, LLC; AuditNet® introduces a new exchange service for Policies and Procedures. Rose, a former IBM employee and President of IDEAL, has performed consulting engagements that improve the internal control posture and implement enterprise wide Policy and Procedure programs. Rose, an accountant with an MS from Syracuse University, will coordinate this new AuditNet® resource. In accordance with our ongoing mission of aiding and improving compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements; many companies have had to (re)visit the status and content of their Policies and Procedures. AuditNet® Policy and Procedure Library Exchange (APPLE) will be rolled out over the next few months and is intended to help you implement an effective Policy and Procedure program within your Company. A successful program should include the following objectives:1) to standardize the method of preparation and issuance of policies and procedures 2) to create policies which will safeguard company assets and comply with: a) SEC rules and regulations including staff accounting bulletins (SAB’s) and the provisions of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, b) the standards set forth within U.S. GAAP, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act of 1977 and its amendments, the Internal Revenue Service and other regulatory agencies. Policies communicate the company’s strategic and tactical direction and are indicative of a company’s culture. Procedures (at this level of documentation) should represent the highest common denominator that is required to be followed by all business units and functional business areas and should not represent detailed work instructions. Topical chapters will include: getting started, accounting and finance, human resources, information technology, legal, manufacturing and operations, marketing and sales, tax and treasury.Watch for the exciting new release of this resource and instructions on how you may contribute. |
