June 1, 2012 (Oakton, Virginia) Preliminary tabulation is in for our 2012 State of Technology Use by Auditors. Results reinforce the fact that auditors could do a much better job of integrating technology in audit. AuditNet® will launch a series of Webinars focused on Internal Audit including CIA preparation, ethics, basic skills and more.

 

May 1, 2012 (Oakton, Virginia) This month we launched the ground breaking 2012 State of Technology Use by Auditors survey. Please help us determine what technologies you are using and how you perceive your maturity level on the AuditNet® Audit Use of Technology Optimization Scale.(AUTOS) by taking the survey! We are also back on track to complete the Website redesign.

 

AuditNet® has discontinued free trial access to the content. If you would like to view the content you now have to subscribe and if within 30 days you are not satisfied we will give you a full refund. The basic subscription rate will increase to $24 on July 1 and we are reviewing the premium subscription rates for a planned increase later this year. If your subscription is coming up for renewal we recommend renewing now to lock in the 2012 current rate!

February 1, 2012 (Oakton, Virginia) AuditNet terminates relationship with RuleSphere and the GAA. After a more than 2 year agreement to cooperate and build a requirements management SaaS application, AuditNet and RuleSphere terminated the relationship

December 1, 2011 (Oakton, Virginia) AuditNet launched a survey on Detecting Fraud using Technology. We also announced the creation of the AuditNet Training Institute focused on JiT training options for auditors. In conjunction with training options for auditors we have applied to be a NASBA CPE sponsor and expect approval in 2012. 

 

November 1, 2011 (Oakton, Virginia) AuditNet Begins Creating an inventory clearinghouse of Standard Audit Condition Statements (SACS).

 

October 1, 2011 (Oakton, Virginia) AuditNet® and AuditSoftware.net join forces to create an audit software portal. The first offering for this new relationship will be Web based training for data analytics.To read the full press release click here! The site redesign is under way!

 

September 1, 2011 (Oakton, Virginia) We signed the agreement and the site redesign project will begin. AuditNet® is also getting ready to launch a fee-based audit program development service that will provide auditors with an opportunity to submit requests for audit programs not currently in the inventory. We will have a team of SME's that will develop the program based on the type of program, objectives, purpose and scope.

 

Registrations using Hotmail or Yahoo no longer allowed for free trials
AuditNet® will no longer accept registrations for the free 30 day trial from Hotmail and Yahoo domains. Due to the number of duplicate (multiple) or phony registrations from these domains AuditNet will no longer activate these accounts. Registrations from Hotmail and Yahoo domains will only be allowed for premium or group subscriptions. If you have no other email available then you will need to send us a request to authorize a registration from these domains.

 

August 1, 2011 (Oakton, Virginia) The classification project was completed and will provide auditors using AuditNet® a much improved experience. We are also crossing the t's and dotting the i's for the site redesign. We are projecting that the new site will be launched in the 4th quarter of 2011. We are working on vendor sponsored Webinars that will provide our community with value added information along with free CPE. Stay tuned!

 

July 1, 2011 (Oakton, Virginia) Our classification project is moving forward in preparation for the site redesign. We will start using the classification structure for categorizing and preparing for new additions to the resources. The social media survey is still open and we look forward to your participation. We are developing new surveys for audit and flowcharts, cloud computing risk, control and audit, mobile technology risk, control and audit and other advanced technologies. We launched a new column called CAATT Tales which will feature articles on technology and audit.

April 1, 2011 (Oakton, Virginia): This month we are offer two Webinars in our Detecting and Preventing Fraud Series. The first is on T&E Fraud Detection Using Data Analysis and the second will focus on Fraud Awareness Training. AuditNet® is developing two new surveys that will be released over the next two months. The first will look at the issue of  Planning Acquiring and Importing the Data for Data Analysis. Based on our March Webinar this is an area that is not given much coverage either from the profession or from vendors. The second survey will focus on Social Media - Risk, Control and Audit based on the explosion of this communication mode that has permeated both our personal and business environments. November 1, 2010 (Oakton, Virginia): AuditNet initiated a Data Analysis Software Survey to determine the extent of Analysis Software Auditor Paralysis (ASAP) or the fear of using data analysis technology in conducting audits and detecting and preventing fraud. The results will be shared after the survey is closed.

October 1, 2010 (Oakton, Virginia)

AuditNet.org  is increasing subscription rates for both individual and group subscriptions. This will be the first increase in 3 years and is based on the expanding audit program inventory through contracting out to create new content for users. Our plan to expand the audit program inventory will also include a site redesign and database update to facilitate locating critical audit information.

The first phase of the rate increase took place on September 15, 2010 for Basic Individual Subscribers. The second phase will go into effect on January 1, 2011 for Premium Individual and Group Licenses. The new annual rates will be as follows:

  • Basic Individual $18
  • Premium Individual $140
  • 5 User License $175
  • 10 User License $550
  • 20 User License $1,100

Those individuals or groups that have access through existing enterprise licensing with CCH TeamMate, ACL, Protiviti KnowledgeLeader or AHIA will not be impacted by these increases.

You still have time to lock in the current rates through a new premium subscription or renewal prior to January 1.

 

September 1, 2010 (Oakton, Virginia) The fee for individual basic level subscribers will increase to $18 on September 15, 2010. In conjunction with our planned launch of the Fraud Audit Library AuditNet® added 4 new fraud related monographs. We are in the process of developing our 2011 Editorial Calendar. February 1, 2010 (Oakton, Virginia)  The AuditNet LinkedIn Networking Group Surpasses 4,000 Members. On January 20, 2010 the AuditNet LinkedIn Networking Group reached 4,000 members. The group was launched in December 2007 and has grown steadily. There are 72 discussions and 20 job postings as of January 29, 2010. Some of the most lively discussions are as follows:

  • Is there any documentation out there that specifies whether an IT Auditor should report to Internal Audit or IT?
  • Could you share what data mining software you use in your audit shop. I'm particularly interested in knowing if anyone is using Access 2007 for that purpose.
  • What are specific or risky aspects in audit of deposit in order to focus more?
