FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 9 A.M. EDT, October 1, 2011 |
OAKTON, VA, OCTOBER 1, 2011: AuditNet® and Cash Recovery
Partners (AuditSoftware.net) today signed a Memorandum of Agreement to
collaborate and create, promote and market a Website portal with the
AuditNet® branding that will provide audit software training, resource
links, and tools for audit software including Computer Assisted Audit
Tools and Techniques (CAATTs), data analysis, continuous
auditing/monitoring, collaboration software, audit management, fraud
detection, as well as other applications that would fall under the
general category of audit software.
The site, when fully deployed, will feature articles, tools, training
and more for audit software and CAATTs. We envision this site as being
the "destination" for auditors looking for software information and
solutions. The portal will host a software buyer’s guide, provide
Web-based training, provide an opportunity for vendors to advertise
their products to the global audit network, feature a Software
Symposium, maintain articles from key subject matter experts, create a
clearinghouse of links to user groups and more.
The first phase of this partnership will launch November 2011 with two Webinars providing data analytics training for auditors.
AuditNet® has supported the concept of maximizing the use of
technology in auditing since inception in 1993. Rich Lanza of
AuditSoftware.net and Jim Kaplan of AuditNet® have roots preceding the
development of their web sites as they were both members and past
presidents of the Northern Virginia IIA Chapter.
“Internal audit professionals worldwide will benefit from this joint
initiative between AuditNet and AuditSoftware.net,” said AuditNet® CEO
and Founder, Jim Kaplan, CIA. “The mission of AuditNet is to leverage
the power of the Internet to benefit the audit profession. Coupling the
oldest and largest independent Website in the world with
AuditSoftware.net, the Internet’s communities of independent
professionals helping auditors maximize the benefits of audit software,
will drive significant efficiencies into audit departments around the
world.” Rich Lanza, AuditSoftware.Net Founder also added, “Since 2003,
AuditSoftware.Net has worked to be a comprehensive resource on audit
software and only see this expanding in the coming years in the way of
additional information and education by leveraging the AuditNet® network
of professionals”.
About AuditNet®
AuditNet® is the global resource for auditors conceived and developed by
Jim Kaplan, the Institute of Internal Auditor’s 2007 Bradford Cadmus
Award recipient. A key feature of the site is a comprehensive library of
audit documents (e-tools) including audit work programs, control
questionnaires, audit checklists, and risk matrices. The document
formats include Microsoft® Word, Microsoft Excel®, Adobe® PDF and plain
text. These e-tools are sought after by auditors across industry type in
both the public and private sector. Access to the documents requires
registration on the AuditNet® site. There are currently over 127,000
registered users for the AuditNet® e-tools.
About AuditSoftware.net
AuditSoftware.Net was founded in early 2003 and its mission then, as
now, is:
“To maximize organizational benefits from using computer tools in the
audit and business intelligence gathering process.” By providing a
community, independent of software, to network and share audit tools,
the site has worked to be a comprehensive audit software resource center
providing tools, threaded discussion areas, case studies, articles,
other information such as a Buyer’s Guide to Audit Software, and
education for the past eight years. The site has primarily been devoted
to internal auditors, external auditors, forensic investigators, and
educators, yet has as much relevance to all professionals in the finance
area.
